About LaNicia Duke

I am LaNicia Duke. I am running non affiliated for Governor of Oregon because I believe government has drifted too far away from the people it is meant to serve.

I did not come to this work through politics party lines. I came to it through lived experience, community relationships, and years of navigating systems that no longer work the way they were intended to. I have seen firsthand how decisions made far from communities affect real lives, especially in rural Oregon.

What I bring to this work is honesty, responsibility, accountability, and a willingness to tell the truth about where we are and what it will take to move forward.

Why I’m Running

I am running to help bring government back to the people.

That means being honest about what is broken, fixing systems that no longer work, and expanding access and participation instead of making guarantees government cannot keep.

Oregon is facing hard decisions. Avoiding them or pretending otherwise has only made things worse. I believe we are capable of facing those decisions together and coming out stronger, wiser, and better if we start listening to each other.

What I am Running To Do

  • Bring government back to the people

  • Tell the truth about what is broken

  • Fix or eliminate systems that no longer work

  • Expand access and participation, not guarantees

  • Prepare Oregon for hard decisions ahead

  • Shift power away from insiders and back to communities

  • Focus on education, systems efficiency, workforce pathways, healthcare and mental health, water infrastructure, housing accountability, and public safety without pretending government can solve everything alone

I’m running as a non-affiliated candidate because I believe Oregon is strongest when we move forward together, not divided by party labels or insider interests.

If you believe it’s time to tell the truth about where we are and do the work to build what comes next, I invite you to be part of this effort.
